Synopsis

Long-running British talent competition, in which celebrities are paired up with professional dancers, in the hope of winning the popular audience vote and being crowned the winning duo of each series. All of the celebrities, who are drawn from the worlds of sport, entertainment, politics, arts and media, are novices on the dancefloors, and have only a few days to plan and perfect their performances with the help of their professional partners. The musical element is provided by a live studio orchestra, and each of the teams are appraised and scored by a panel of expert judges. But the decision as to which pair drops out each weekend is down to the votes of viewers at home. There are multiple elimination rounds and only the best pairs will make the grand final.
