Synopsis
South Africa has some of the best and most consistent surf breaks in the world but the qualifying series, for years, lacked events there. This year competitive surfing is back in South Africa and the season returned with a bang, with five QS Events ranging from 1 star, to 3 star, before culminating at the 6 star Ballito Pro. Let's reflect on the highlights of 2017.
